Architecture and Interior Design for a 20,000 sq ft, $5M new construction restaurant / bakery / bar. Scope includes conceptual, design development, CD’s and supervision, consultant coordination, contractor selection, budget and schedule, and all supervision of full architectural and interior design work to completion.
The Medici Restaurant is a very successful establishment in the college town of Normal, IL. The project architecture and interior designs were executed by Josh Behr and include new construction in an historic preservation district encompassing a bakery, two bars, indoor and outdoor dining, and banquet facilities. The two facades are recreations from photographs obtained from the local historical society. The modern and eclectic interior has a variety of spaces with differing atmospheres. All of the wood furniture was made on the owner’s tree farm in Wisconsin by Amish craftsman. The tables are particularly noteworthy.
